Adar & Mimi are a mother and daughter team with over 65 years of sewing experience between the two of them. Darlene, aka “Adar” learned from her mother and started sewing at a very young age. After high school she went to The Clarissa School of Dress Making and has made a living by sewing clothing, quilting and slipcovers. Darlene also owned a craft and quilting store during the 1980’s. She now specializes in one of-a-kind purses, custom embroidery and fun gifts for children such as tutu onesies, embroidered bath towel sets and slipcovers for children’s chairs.
Like mother like daughter, Mimi learned to sew from her mom, Darlene, when she was a young girl as well and worked at a fabric store all through high school. After graduating from WVU with a BFA in Theatre, she pursued a career in the theatrical lighting industry, but always kept up her sewing whether it be for her home or her own clothing. Since retiring from the road to raise her family, she has starting sewing again with her mom fulltime.
Together they created Adar & Mimi and Snickelfritz, and consider themselves to be Professional Hobbyists.
